On Saturday 11th May the first ever Norfolk Heat of The Pole2Pole Amateur & Professional Cup 2013, took place at The Talk, Norwich and was hosted by local pole school Pole Fusion.

The event was an amazing success and Kathy Buller and everyone at Pole Fusion would like to say a huge thank you to Pole2Pole Magazine for letting us host the first ever pole dancing competition in Norwich.  It was a fantastic opportunity for local competitors to enter one of the biggest amateur and professional pole competitions currently being run in the UK.  It was also a brilliant opportunity for local enthusiasts to see how pole dancing has evolved over the years and to see the current high standard of both amateur and professional pole dancers in the local area.

Our judges for the competition were:

Sam Cowie: Pole dancing’s own elegant Avatar! Winner of the 2011 Essex Pole Dancing Competition, UKAPP Winner 2010 instructor category, and 2nd place at the Taylor’s Retreat cup 2010.

Sue Colebourne: Owner of Pole Plus in Derby

Sally Ann Giles: Owner of Heart and Soul Pole Fitness Academy in Wolverhampton, the titles owned by Sally are, Taylor’s Retreat Cup Professional 2010, British Isles Pole Dance Champion of Champions 2010, Pole Divas Professional Champion 2007, 2008 & 2010, Aerial Pole International Best Entertainer 2011.

All the judges brought with them a wealth of pole expertise and knowledge on the night, and Pole Fusion is truly thankful for all the hard work they put in to the evening. A special thank you also goes out to Sally-Ann for her jaw dropping performance on the night, giving real pole inspiration to everyone who attended. All the contestants were also amazed with the detailed feedback and their scores, providing them with constructive and useful points in how to improve and become better performers.

The winner of The Pole2Pole Amateur Cup Category was Emma Brigham and a close second place went to Laura Duncome. Also on the night Pole2Pole gave out a Wild Card entry to Gemma Lord due to the high standard of routines from all competitors on the night.

The winner of The Pole2Pole Professional Cup Category was Selina Hamilton-Morris for her well choreographed and strong routine.

All performers were outstanding and set a fantastic baseline for next year. Well done everyone, roll on the final!

See you soon!
