Stars from The Naked Truth met a local pole dancing group in support of their efforts to raise money for a little boy with a life limiting condition.
The stars from the show wanted to meet the group after hearing about their fundraising campaign for an 11 month old boy called Mackie who has recently been diagnosed with type 2 Spinal Muscular Atrophy – a condition that has no cure.
Founder of Athena Fitness Olivia Hockey said: “There are treatments available to help keep him health and happy, however many treatments are expensive. We had already put together a 2011 Pole Fitness Calendar with a little help from a photographer in our class. After hearing the sad news about Mackie I spoke to the girls in the pole classes and they were all in agreement that all profit raised from our calendar should be given to Mackie.”
The Naked Truth is an uplifting play about five very different women who struggle to conquer the art of pole dancing for a Charity event that raises awareness and money for breast cancer.
The ladies from Athena Pole Fitness joined the cast on stage after the show to pole dance with them. The cast also signed copies of their calendar as well as buying a couple of copies for themselves.
Athena Pole Fitness started in August 2009 and has progressively grown to a busy pole fitness school with many members from all backgrounds, ages and professions. Classes help to increase self confidence and fitness levels in a fun, friendly, professional environment. Many of the girls that participate have become great friends.
Pole dancing classes are held in a private dance studio in Queen Street Gravesend. For more information email Olivia at olivia@athenafitness.co.uk or visit www.athenafitness.co.uk.
